New AquaBlockFix™ flood barriers help protect Szczecin
City of Szczecin together with local firefighters acquired new AquaBlockFix™ modular flood barriers. A total of 100 straight and several angular pieces have been added to the equipment to provide quick and effective protection in the event of torrential rains or the threat of flooding.
Major of the city Peter Svoboda to this he says:
“Štětí lies close to the Elbe River and we are well aware that the water can be erratic. That's why we wanted to be able to respond really quickly. AquaBlockFix™ barriers will allow us to protect residents and property much more effectively than before. “
Fast deployment even in a small number of people
Nuevos barriros se designata para ser facile para transportar y construir. Jan Dvořák, commander of the local volunteer fire brigade, he adds:
“We put down the barriers in a matter of minutes and we don't need dozens of people to do that. Takes two or three firefighters and we can establish a line of protection where it is most needed. Compared to sandbags, this is a huge shift, plus we can use them repeatedly. “
Reliable solution from Czech manufacturer
In addition to practicality, the city appreciated the more favorable price and the certainty of having a manufacturer nearby. “It is important for us that, if necessary, the service and delivery of additional parts are quick. And since it is a Czech company, we also have more certainty for the future,” adds Mayor Svoboda.
According to a representative of AquaBlockFix™, the city's decision is a logical step. Jiří Faltys, Sales and Technical Director, to this he says:
“Our barriers are designed to last for decades and provide protection even in crisis situations. We are glad that the city of Szczecin is betting on modern and efficient solutions. It means more safety for residents and easier work for firefighters. “

See the most frequently asked questions and answers about our flood barriers. Here you will find information on installation, maintenance, storage and customization options.
How do AquaBlockFix flood barriers work?
ABF flood barriers are designed to quickly create a solid and impermeable water barrier. Thanks to the flexible and durable material, they easily adapt to the terrain and stabilize themselves with water pressure, preventing its penetration.
Are AquaBlockFix barriers suitable for reuse?
Yes, ABF barriers are designed for reuse. Once used, they can be simply cleaned, stored and prepared for further deployment, making them an economical and environmentally friendly choice.
How long does it take to install ABF barriers?
Installing AquaBlockFix barriers is very quick and simple. In most cases, only a few minutes are enough and there is no need for special tools or a large number of workers, which is ideal for emergencies. On average, you are able to build 200m barriers in about 1 hour.
How many workers does it take to install?

What is the service life of AquaBlockFix flood barriers?
AquaBlockFix flood barriers are made of high quality ABS plastic with UV stabilization, which resists sunlight for decades without fragility and loss of strength, can withstand long-term temperature loads from about −40 °C to +80 °C without major degradation, is very tough and highly resistant to impact, pressure and deformation, at the same time does not absorb water, does not rot, does not rust It is resistant to common chemicals, which means that the barriers have a service life of several decades. Compared to rubber inflatable barriers, they do not crack, do not cut and suffer from air leaks, compared to sandbags they do not tear, do not degrade due to moisture and do not become moldy and offer significantly higher mechanical strength and overall service life compared to conventional PE or PP plastics.
What are the main advantages over sandbags?
AquaBlockFix barriers are much faster to install, lighter to handle and reusable, reducing costs and eliminating the need for disposable materials. In addition, they seal better against water than traditional sandbags.
Are AquaBlockFix barriers resistant to extreme conditions?
Yes, ABF barriers are designed to withstand high water pressure, wind and other extreme conditions. Their material is robust and resistant to weathering.
Can AquaBlockFix barriers be combined for different lengths and heights of protection?
No, currently AquaBlockFix barriers are only offered in one protective height, namely 75 cm.
Are AquaBlockFix barriers environmentally friendly?
Yes, because they are reusable and have a long service life, reduce waste and represent a greener alternative to disposable protective measures such as sandbags.
